i have a 2003 yamaha grizzley, it only has around 1200.miles on it .i have put 4 cdi boxes on it. also 2 odometers. i took it to the yamaha dealer where i live they said they could not find anything wrong ,so they out a odometer on it and ,it started working .it ran for about 8 months, then started doing the same thing. it backfires, and when it backfires it blows fuses and the cdi boxes, and also the odometer. ihave also put around 6 batteries in it, i need to know thir needs to be a recall on something on these 4-wheelers. i have 2 nephews who bought grizzleys, theirs is a 2004 and they have the same problem, theirs backfires and blows their fuses.and cdi boxes. but i have had more trouble with mine.it isn’t hurt any the motor and the body is in excellent shape its not been treated rough, i have babied it ,i just can;t keep it running.

2003 BIG BEAR, THE BRAKES, RATTLE AND YES CDI BOX WITH THE LOOSE WIRES HAS BEEN A PROBLEM. PROBLEM SOLVED I BOUGHT A POLARIS. I SPENT LESS MONEY ON IT THAN I’VE PUT INTO MY BIG BEAR AND THE POLARIS IS A TRUE 4X4. I STILL HAVE BOTH ATV’S IN MY YARD. IF ANYONE ASK I TELL THEM WHAT I THINK OF YAMAHA AND HOW THEY STAND BEHIND THEIR EQUIPMENT AND OH BY THE WAY MY BIG BEAR HAS 800 MILES ON IT. TWO BAT. AND TWO BRAKES.

It has around 12000 miles now and the rattle is getting worse. I change oil more then most people and set the valves once a year. Would like suggestions on the rattle.

How funny, everytime I took my Bruin in purchased new in 06, I got the same response. I cant find anything wrong. Up till the warrenty was up. Sence the it has cost me over 2500. in parts and labor. The last straw is the rear axail has broke free from the frame and now needs a new frame. And, the reason the back did not work right was not because thats how they were made but, not installed correctly to begain with. I GIVE UP. I did not want a used one because I am no machanice and would not know how to fix it. That will teach me.
