A List of the Brands of Dog and Cat Pet Food Recalled by Menu Foods
NOTE: Added as of April 3rd:
Del Monte, Nestle Purina PetCare Company, and Hill’s Pet Nutrition
Because the Hill’s Pet Nutrition includes a dry prescription dogfood product, pet owners are advised not to trust ANY mass produced pet food product, wet or dry. There are recipes online for making your own dogfood from human-grade food products. We suggest you take this route.
US Recall News does not maintain a complete list of catfood or dogfood recalls. The list of recalled wet and/or canned pet food products on this page may not be comprehensive. Consumers and pet owners are advised to contact at 1-866-895-2708 for more information about specific dog food recalls or cat food recalls. This list was compiled from the recalled dog and cat food list at the Menu Foods website. Clicking on the link to each brand will take you to Menu foods, where you can obtain more information about specific batch numbers and date ranges for this major pet food recall.
Pet owners may consider taking legal action if their dog or cat was harmed due to one of these brands of recalled pet food products. This page may contain advertisements to personal injury lawyers who handle pet cases.

I had a cat that just recently died from kidney failure that was being fed a couple of these brands of food.
Disgusted!!!! says
WHO IS BEING HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS MASS BLUNDER???? WHY AREN’T THESE PET FOODS UP TO STANDARD AND WHY ARE COMPANIES ALLOWED TO PUT GARBAGE AND FILTH INTO PET FOODS AND BE ALLOWED TO CALL IT “GOURMET” THUS FOOLING THE PUBLIC. MANY OF MY DOGS IN THE PAST HAVE DIED AS A RESULT OF MOUTH AND THROAT CANCERS. I WONDER WHY WHEN PET FOOD MANUFACTURERS ARE ALLOWED TO SELL US VILE GOO AND LABEL IT AS FOOD. ALL OF THIS IS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. I’LL NEVER BUY DOG OR CAT FOOD AGAIN. I’LL COOK FOOD FOR MY PETS. MAYBE THEN THEY CAN LIVE LONG AND HEALTHY LIVES. ALL OF YOU CAN KEEP YOUR TAINTED SO-CALLED FOODS AND EAT THEM YOURSELVES! BON APPETITE!!!!!!

I am lucky so far that my cat is still healthy and I am deeply saddened to hear of so many precious pets that have been hurt by this. Now maybe some action will be taken to insure that our pets receive safe and healthy food. Pet food manufacturers must realize how important our pets are to us. For me. my cat is my best friend. I will do anything to be sure he is healthy. He is the other half of my life. We must push for action to insure that this kind of thing can never happen again. Our pets depend on us to take good care of them. They are the ones that make life worth living. Please keep the list of affected foods up to date.

This is so wide spread throughout so many brands my paraniod side has to wonder if this could be tarorist, testing the waters to attack our food supply. Our poor pets are the ginny pigs of what could be an even worse fate!!! God help us all if this is the case. God Bless everyone who has lost a beloved pet. Many people have you in their prayers!

My Lhasa Apso is currently very ill and we feed her Nutro Natural Choice Dry Dog Food,Lamb and Rice.
I will not feed her dog food anymore, I’d rather feed her table scraps though I will prepare her meals as do I for my wife and I.

Just a quick response to the introduction – unfortunately, poison does apparently end up in baby food on occasion. In Colorado they are trying to track down infant formula that killed one child and left another with disabilities – a grief stricken mother pleas for information in a spot aired regulary for the last couple of weeks. Anyway – quick dog foof recipe I got once from a vet:
(equal parts) ground beef rinsed and drained, brown rice, and low fat cottage cheese. Good luck to pet owners everywhere.

Beavis, my beautiful cat, just died from kidney failure. I have 4 other cats and they are not eating like they used to. I feel that the food I have fed them is responsible for Beavis’ death. Does anyone feel as I do that this might have been on purpose since animals are so badly treated in China. They have even killed dogs for the fur they put on clothing that is shipped to America. I hope I am wrong about this but it makes me wonder. I also wonder if this is a test run for other poisonings later.
