Potential Number of Units Affected: 21
Summary: KENWORTH IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2010 T2000, T660, T800 AND W900 VEHICLES MANUFACTURED BETWEEN JULY 30, 2009 AND SEPTEMBER 18, 2009. THE REAR AXLE OUTER END HUB MAY HAVE NOT BEEN PRIMED WITH OIL PROPERLY DURING THE REAR AXLE INSTALLATION PROCESS. POTENTIAL LACK OF OIL MAY CAUSE THE OUTER END BEARING TO HEAT UP AND/OR SEIZE, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN THE OVERHEATING OF THE WHEEL END.
Consequence: A WHEEL END FIRE MAY OCCUR, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE BEARINGS, SEALS AND WILL ADD OIL TO THE OUTER END HUB AS WELL AS INSPECT RACES AND AXLE HOUSING FOR DAMAGE AND REPLACING AS NECESSARY FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN DURING JUNE 2010. OWNERS MAY CONTACT KENWORTH AT 425-828-5440.

    I DRIVE A 2010 T 800 W KENWORTH I HAVE A ISX 600 CUMMINGS WITH 4.10 REAR END 18SPEED AND I ONLY HAVE 52000 MILES ON IT WITH 2000 HR’S AND THE PROBLEM I AM HAVING IS MY PASSANGER WINDOW WILL GO DOWN BY ITS SELF SOMETIMES AND MY JAKE BRAKE WILL ONLY WORK WITH 2 CYLINDERS INSTEAD OF 3 LIKE IT HAS FRONT END SHAKES REALLY BAD I HAVE THE SUPER SINGLE TIRES ONLY HAVE 52000 MILES ON THEM AND THE TIRES R WEARING BADLY ON THE INSIDE ALSO MY BACK GLASS GETS REALLY HOT FROM THE EXHAUST MY STEERING WHEEL GOES DOWN WITH OUT ME HAVEING TO USE THE TILT FOOT PEDAL MY MIRROWS VIBRATE SO BAD THAT THE DRIVER SIDE MIRROW HAS BROKEN FROM THE BOTTOM BRACKET WHERE THE WELD IS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE MIRROW AND MY PASSANGER MIRROW IS FIXING TO BRAKE AS WELL IN THE SAME SPOT ON MY DRIVER DOOR THE OUTSIDE RUBBER GASKET R RUBBER TRIM HAS CAME UNGLUED SO NOW WHEN IT RAINS IN GETS THE INSIDE OF MY TRUCK WET I HEAR SQUEAKING NOISE COMEING FROM THE EXHAUST BRACKETS THE LITTLE MOUNTS THAT SLIDE UP AND DOWN I GUESS THERE IS ALSO A RATTLELING NOISE COMEING FROM THE INSIDE OF MY CAB ON THE DRIVER SIDE TOP LEFT AND PASSANGER SIDE AS WELL .
