The new Prostar tractor from International sure rides good but the air ride steering is sure hard to get use to as it slops all over the road at what it seems to be it own will and the truck feels like it will tip over if you turn the wheel just a small amount.. That brings me to the next issue of the very quick steering meaning that if I move the steering wheel just a little the steer tires move a lot, to me that is very dangerous for a truck because some times they are loaded very top heavy and tip over easy anyway now add in a quick turn of the wheel you better hope the seat belt works. Now for the problems I have had with the new steering wheel design. The person that developed the stering wheel filled with critical controls must have been someone that loves small computer games and never drove a truck!! One night as I saw some snow and ice ahead of me on the road I placed my finger onto the air horn button while searching for the engine brake button, did I mention that it was very late at night, the air horn is next to the engine brake which I needed to shut off for safety reasons before I get on the snow and ice. Then another time I was flashing the head lights on and off trying to find the button to engage the cruse control. This is the most frustrating configuration of controls I have ever came accross and no back lights. Then later the engine warning light came on so I took the truck to the shop. It has been in the shop for a week now. Since no one understands the new electronics except the engeneers that designed it the mechanics are at the mercy of guessing at which part to replace to solve the problem! So far they have change the entire wiring harness and now they are replacing the computer. The next issue I have is the door seal, one day the sub-zero wind was blowing at the drivers side of the truck and I almost froze to death before I found enough plastic trash bags to stuff into the crack between the door covering and the window base and even then I had cold air coming in somewhere to the point where I had to wear my winter coat to keep my left arm warm and I wore my fur hat pulled down over my ears to keep the left side of my head warm. If I bought this truck instead of being a company driver I would have returned it to the dealership. Would you keep a new car that this many problems? I am at the mercy of what every truck my company buys for me so I suffer.
