ediculous! I have been using these bottles (both small & large) for almost a year now. One would have to carelessly slam the stopper into the bottle neck unless it had a hairline crack, which might give it a weakened condition.
If I break a drinking glass, stemmed wine glass or some other glass beverage holder in my kitchen, due to my carelessness, I can’t expect to take it back and have a national or international “consumer recall alert”.
This is going too far! Such a hugh expense to the retailers, and an inconvenience to the customer. We, the customers, eventually pay the price for these rediculous recalls by increased prices on other items to make up for the expense of the recalls.
Recalls are NOT A BAD THING because they do protect the consumer IF THERE ARE REAL “LIFE-THREATENING” design/mfg. defects.
This consumer protection thing is going too far…..over the top! I gave one of these bottles to my granddaughter (11 yrs. old) and I didn’t feel I had to warn her that it is “glass”, be careful”. She has been using glass drinking products most of her young life! “Coke” comes packaged in glass bottles that will shatter if the cap is forced off or the bottle is used carelessly. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!!
