Coco’s Italian Market Retira Productos De Albondiga Italiana, Raviolis De Carne De Res Y Pizza De Pepperoni Producidos Sin El Beneficio De La Inspección

WASHINGTON, 24 de julio de 2020 – Coco’s Italian Market, una compañía en Nashville, Tenn. está retirando aproximadamente 16.868 libras de varios productos de carne congelados listos para consumir que fueron producidos sin el beneficio de la inspección federal, anunció hoy el Servicio de Inocuidad e Inspección de Alimentos (FSIS, por sus siglas en inglés) del Departamento de Agricultura de los EE.UU.

Los artículos congelados de albóndiga italiana, raviolis de carne de res y pizza de pepperoni fueron producidos en múltiples fechas entre enero de 2019 y julio de 2020. Los siguientes productos son objeto de la retirada: [Etiquetas (formato PDF)]

  • Empaques plásticos transparentes de 16 oz. que contienen 4 unidades de “Coco’s ITALIAN MARKET Fully Cooked Italian Meatballs” (“Albóndigas Italianas Totalmente Cocidas Coco’s ITALIAN MARKET”) y un sello de inspección del USDA indicado en la etiqueta.
  • Envases recubiertos de plástico de 15 oz. que contienen “Coco’s ITALIAN MARKET Take – n – Bake BEEF RAVIOLI WITH LUCIANA’S MARINARA SAUCE.” (“RAVIOLIS DE CARNE DE RES CON LA SALSA MARINARA DE LUCIANA Coco’s ITALIAN MARKET Take – n – Bake”)
  • Bandejas de cartón recubiertas en plástico de 16 in. que contienen “Coco’s ITALIAN MARKET Take – n – Bake Hand Made Pepperoni Pizza” (“Pizza de Pepperoni Hecha a Mano Coco’s ITALIAN MARKET Take – n – Bake”) con un sello de inspección del USDA indicado en la etiqueta.
  • Bandejas de cartón recubiertas en plástico de 7 in. que contienen “Coco’s ITALIAN MARKET Take – n – Bake Hand Made Pepperoni Pizza” (“Pizza de Pepperoni Hecha a Mano Coco’s ITALIAN MARKET Take – n – Bake”) con un sello de inspección del USDA indicado en la etiqueta.   

Los productos objeto de la retirada no están marcados con un número de establecimiento dentro del sello de inspección del USDA. Estos productos fueron enviados a establecimientos comerciales Tennessee.

El problema fue descubierto cuando el Departamento de Agricultura de Tennessee detectó productos producidos por Coco’s Italian Market en establecimientos comerciales etiquetados con los sellos federales de inspección. También identificaron otros problemas de rotulación, como la omisión del peso neto en el producto de la pizza de pepperoni.

No hay reportes confirmados de reacciones adversas debido al consumo de estos productos. Cualquier persona que tenga inquietudes acerca de alguna reacción debe contactar a un proveedor de servicios de salud.

El FSIS muestra preocupación porque parte del producto puede estar en los congeladores de los consumidores. Se les urge a los consumidores que compraron estos productos que no los consuman. Estos productos deben ser desechados o devueltos al punto de venta.

El FSIS realiza revisiones sobre la efectividad de retirada de manera rutinaria para verificar que las empresas que realizan una retirada les notifiquen a sus clientes de esta y que se sigan los pasos necesarios para asegurarse de que el producto ya no esté al alcance de los consumidores. Cuando están disponibles, las listas de distribución al detalle se publican en el sitio web del FSIS www.fsis.usda.gov/avisos.
