Bravo Produce Inc de San Ysidro, está retirando  Maradol Papaya, cultivadas por Productores y Exportadores de Carica Papaya de Tecoman y Costa Alegre SPR de RL y empacadas por Frutas Selectas de Tijuana, S. de R.L. de C.V., como  manera preventiva,  debido a que dicho producto ha probado positivo para Salmonella,  es de suma importancia mencionar que  dicha bacteria puede afectar a niños, ancianos y personas con sistemas inmunológicos débiles. Los síntomas a experimentar  son fiebre, diarrea, náusea, vómito y dolor abdominal. En raras circunstancias, la infección por Salmonella puede resultar en el organismo entrando en el torrente sanguíneo y la producción de enfermedades graves, como las infecciones arteriales (es decir, los aneurismas infectados), endocarditis y artritis.

Informamos que el  producto fue distribuido a mercados del estado de California en el periodo del 10 al 29 de Agosto de 2017. Dicho  producto estaba dirigido a los clientes mayoritarios e incluyendo los consumidores minoristas. Las papayas estaban disponibles para la venta hasta el 29 de Agosto  2017. Los consumidores pueden identificar las papayas por la etiqueta  de la empresa empacadora, Futas Selectas de Tijuana, S. de R.L. de C.V.  Es importante aclarar que Frutas Selectas de Tijuana, S. de R.L. de C.V. (Imagen 1), únicamente es el EMPACADOR y por lo tanto pone sus etiquetas, pero el productor de la papaya es Productores y Exportadores de Carica Papaya de Tecoman y Costa Alegre S.P.R. de R.L.

El consumidor  puede identificar el producto por los códigos encontrados en el lado lateral de la caja (Imagen 2), los códigos incluyen los siguientes.

Todos los clientes a quienes se les  entregó el producto han sido notificados (vía telefónica y correo electrónico) para retirar y destruir las papayas que estén en las estanterías de las tiendas y otros lugares comerciales. Las verificaciones de la eficacia del retiro ya están en curso por FDA.

 El retiro de producto se inició cuando fue notificado por la FDA, el 08 de septiembre de 2017,  que había resultado positivo para Salmonella.

Bravo Produce Inc estará tomando medidas de precaución para garantizar la seguridad de sus productos importados mediante la toma de muestras de cada carga a un laboratorio privado  y autorizado por dicha dependencia para la determinación de Salmonella. La compañía también está cooperando con FDA en su investigación y proporcionará toda la asistencia posible.

Los consumidores que pudieron haber comprado las papayas de Productores y Exportadores de Carica Papaya de Tecoman y Costa Alegre S.P.R. de R.L.  y con etiqueta del empaque de Frutas Selectas de Tijuana, S. de R.L. de C.V. se aconsejan no comerlas y deshacerse de ellas si aún cuentan con algún producto. Para más preguntas, puede comunicarse con  Bravo Produce Inc. 01(844) 891-7782. Las llamadas se recibirán de lunes a sábado de 7:00 am a 14:00 pm.
