A post from yesterday over on Wisebread.com (We recommend. Great Blog.) talks about how Crocs (the immensely popular shoes) pose a danger on escalators, which has resulted in some malls and other public places banning Crocs.
Paul Michael of Wise Bread refers to some local news stories from News Five in Phoenix, AZ and the Daily News in Canada, as well as an ABC story from way back in 2005.
Apparently the soft sole of a Croc does not go well with the hard teeth of an escalator. But are they any more dangerous than “flip flops”? I doubt it. As the spokesperson fro Crocs might say, mall goers should ALWAYS be careful on the escalator, especially when wearing soft-soled shoes like Crocs, flip flops and sandals.
