HAZARD: WIRING INSIDE THE WAFFLE MAKER CAN BE DAMAGED AND CONTACT THE WAFFLE MAKER’S METAL BODY, POSING A SHOCK OR FIRE HAZARD TO CONSUMERS.
INCIDENTS/INJURIES: ALL-CLAD HAS RECEIVED 20 REPORTS OF WAFFLE MAKERS EMITTING SPARKS. NO INJURIES HAVE BEEN REPORTED.
DESCRIPTION: THE RECALLED ALL-CLAD 4-SQUARE BELGIAN WAFFLE MAKER IS ELECTRIC WITH A STAINLESS STEEL EXTERIOR. THE RECALL INVOLVES UNITS WITH A MODEL/REF NUMBER OF #WD700462 AND 4-DIGIT MANUFACTURE DATE CODES ENDING IN “08”. THE MODEL/REF NUMBER AND MANUFACTURE DATE CODE ARE LOCATED ON A WHITE LABEL ON THE BOTTOM OF THE WAFFLE MAKER.

We received a recall notice to check our waffle maker since the Warranty Registration had been completed on line. We checked the date as instructed, then called to have a ‘product return box’ mailed to us. It was received 4/3/09 & we packaged the waffle maker, returned by UPS 4/4/09. I called UPS to get a confirmation that it was received (in New Jersey on the 9th & signed by Vossburgh). As to date, the “new” waffle maker has not been shipped to us; & have been told via phone it may be shipped today. Our recall notice stated that as soon as the wafflemaker was received at the warehouse a NEW one will be shipped. Now I am told our practically new (used 4 times) will be replaced with a “Quality Replacement.” This really bothers us; a NEW REPLACEMENT should be sent to us…..and the waiting period has been unexceptable.
