Harry London Candies Recalls Chocolate Pecan Caramel Stars: Allergen

Harry London today announced it is voluntarily recalling 3310 individual units of the 4.62 ounce Harry London Chocolate Pecan Caramel Stars because they have not been labeled to include Wheat, FD&C colors Yellow #5, Red # 40 and Blue #1 as an ingredient. All Harry London Chocolate Pecan Caramel Stars sold after 28 December 2009 have the correct labeling.

Limeno LLC. Recalls Rico Queso Duro Blanco: Salmonella

Limeno LLC. is recalling its 16 ounce packages of Rico Queso duro blanco (white hard cheese) distributed by Flores Food of America because they may have be contaminated with salmonella, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with salmonella often exparience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. in rare circumstances, infection with salmonella can result in the organism getting into the blood- stream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e. infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.

Publix Recalls Pumpkin Pecan Streusel Pie: Allergy Alert

Publix Super Markets is issuing a voluntary recall for Publix Pumpkin Pecan Streusel Pie, because it was mislabeled and may contain undeclared pecans. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to pecans run the risk of allergic reaction if they consume this product. Product was prepared at Publix stores for retail sale between November and December 2009. The recalled product has a UPC number of: 002- 95118-20399-7 and is packaged in a 30 ounce plastic container. The name of the product describes the product as “Pumpkin Pecan Streusel Pie.: The ingredient statement on the label does not declare pecan, which is an ingredient in the pie. The mislabeled pies were distributed in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee and South Carolina.
