Wegmans Food Markets, Inc. is recalling Wegmans Thai Sweet Chili Sauce Cup 1.5 oz. (UPC7-66630-98023) with a best-by of 7/4/18 or 7/5/18 because the product may contain undeclared egg. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to egg run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product. This product (1.5 oz. cup) is sold individually and is also packaged with the two packaged Sushi/Asian products listed below, which are also being recalled:
Wegmans Avocado Summer Roll, 2 Pack, 5 oz.
UPC: 2-48762-00000 or 2-48920-00000
Only packages with a use by date of 3/10/18 are affected.
Wegmans Assorted Gyoza (Dumplings), Family Pack, 17 oz.
UPC: 2-48798-00000 or 2-48963-00000
Only packages with a use by date of 3/9/18 to 3/12/18 are affected.
The individual cups of Wegmans Thai Sweet Chili Sauce and the packaged Sushi/Asian products that contained the individual cups were sold in various Wegmans 95 stores located in NY, NJ, PA, VA, MD and MA.
There have been no injuries or illnesses reported to date associated with this product. The recall was initiated because a Wegmans employee in one store discovered that the incorrect sauce had been packaged and labeled incorrectly.
Wegmans will place automated phone calls to customers who purchased the products using their Shoppers Club card.
Customers who purchased the recalled product from Wegmans should return it to the service desk for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact Wegmans consumer affairs department toll free at 1-855-934-3663 Monday through Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Eastern time.
