True Leaf Farms, LLC announced yesterday that one of seven samples of spring mix and arugula that was thought to have tested ‘positive’ for Salmonella contamination is now believed to have been tainted through a laboratory error. The laboratory used by its customer for internal ‘hold and tests’ of its finished product orally informed the company of the error today, adding that the batch should have tested ‘negative.’
In addition, True Leaf now has independent test results from retention samples taken from that very same run of finished product on Saturday, July 21st. These results were negative for Salmonella confirming that the spring mix and arugula are not contaminated, as once suspected.
