Over 155,000 Ford trucks are being recalled by the Ford Motor Company, according to today’s recall alert by the NHTSA.
Here are the models being recalled, all year 2003 Fords:
Ford E550 Trucks (2002 & 2003)
Ford Excursion SUV
Ford F-150 Trucks
Ford F250 Trucks
Ford F350 Trucks
Ford F450 Trucks
Ford F550 Trucks
Lincoln Blackwood Pickup Truck
On the models above, certain trucks equipped with speed control, gas or natural gas engines, the speed control deactivation switch may overheat. The overheating speed control switch could result in smoke that may impair the diver’s ability to see, and/or cause a fire under the truck’s hood.
What to do if you own one of these Ford trucks:
Immediately discontinue use of the speed control, and take your truck in to a Ford dealer. The dealer will install a fused wiring harness into the speed control system for free.
