884 Pounds of Ground Beef Recalled Due to Possible E. coli Contamination

Fairbank Farms of Ashville, N.Y., has recalled about 884 pounds of ground beef products because they might be contaminated with E. coli bacteria.

Fairbank Farms is a DBA of Fairbank Reconstruction Corp., who discovered the contamination danger during their routine microbiological testing program.

M&J Engineering has Recalled about 1,500 swivels for scuba diving masks due to drowning hazard, as the swivel could separate while diving.

This M&J Engineering recall includes all SW-3000 2nd stage 360-degree swivels for scuba diving masks manufactured between January 2004 and February 2005. The swivel has the manufacture date stamped on the body, below the patent number. Swivels that are already repaired have an arrow stamped on the top right corner of the swivel body.

Millions of Ford Cars and Trucks Recalled for Cruise n Burn Setting

After years of reported cases of vehicles catching fire, Ford has recalled 3.6 cars, SUVs, Mini Vans and Trucks due to problems with the speed control deactivation switch. According to Ford’s website:

“Ford is taking this action to address continued customer concerns about the potential for fires in their vehicles. We cannot be confident in the long term durability of the speed control deactivation switches.”

More Catfood and Dogfood Recalls from Menu Foods May 3 2007

Menu Foods had already recalled wet catfood and dogfood produced with adulterated wheat gluten supplied by ChemNutra Inc. Menu Foods is now expanding the recall to include cuts and gravy and select other products which do not include ChemNutra wheat gluten, but which were manufactured at any of Menu Foods’ plants during the period that ChemNutra wheat gluten was used at that plant, to the extent they have not already been subject to a recall, due to the possibility of cross-contamination. Menu Foods has received a report from a customer and has received study results, both of which indicate cross-contamination.

11 Million Bottles of OTC Pain Killers Recalled

Perrigo has recalled 11 million bottles of their generic over-the-counter pain killer containing acetaminophen caplets after discovering metal fragments in some batches.

These are 500-mg pills sold as various store brands in the US including: Wal-Mart, Safeway, CVS and Food Lion.

So far there have been no injuries resulting from this recalled product.
