Shining Marble Corporation dba Shil La Dang, Gardena, CA, is recalling its Gimbob (fish cake sushi), Modeum rice cake, combination rice cake, Sultok rice cake, and Bean Seolki rice cake. The Gimbob Fish Cake does not declare tempura fish, wheat, or soybean as an ingredient. The Modeum, Combination, Sultok, and Bean Seolki rice cakes do not declare chestnuts as an ingredient. People who have allergies or sensitivities to wheat, fish, soybeans, or tree nuts may run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.
They are distributed in Korean markets in Los Angeles and Orange County, CA.
All products are sold in a 14-ounce package labeled as Shil La Dang and the production date can be found on each label.
The recall was initiated after it was discovered that the fish cake Gimbob only revealed “tempura” and failed to reveal the ingredients of tempura containing “Fish, Wheat, Soybean”, Modeum, Combination, Sultok, Bean Seolki rice cake containing chestnuts did not reveal the presence of chestnuts.
Consumers who have purchased these products are urged to return it to the location of purchase for a full refund.

Melon Acres announced the recall of cantaloupes distributed through Farm-Wey Produce of Lakeland, FL due to potential health concerns. The cantaloupes were shipped August 13th and 14th and were identified as 41 MG 10, Bin Numbers 4753-4980. These bins were distributed to Aldi’s in Greenwood, Indiana and Meijer in Lansing, Michigan, Newport, Michigan, and Tipp City, Ohio. The recall was issued following a testing on Tuesday, August 11, 2009 by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) that revealed one of a sample of twenty cantaloupes taken by that Agency tested positive for Salmonella. The FDA reported the positive test to Melon Acres on Friday, August 21, 2009.
