US Recall News is a non-government agency.
Our goal is to bring you the most up-to-date recall information all in one place with an easy-to-use website and modern features like RSS and email subscriptions and a searchable database of recalls. However, we cannot guarantee that 100% of recalls are contained within our database. Below are the major government agencies in charge of recalls within the United States:

Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC): In charge of consumer product recalls, such as toys, appliances, clothing, accessories, cribs, strollers and more. They accept reports of incidents with infant and toddler car seats, as does the NHTSA (see below).

National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA): In charge of all vehicles and vehicle parts and accessories. Some defective product reports, such as those for aftermarket auto accessories and safety devices, may also be accepted by the CPSC (see above).

United States Department of Agriculture (USDA): In charge of meat, vegetables, fruit, dairy and other agricultural products sold within the United States. The FDA (see below) may also accept some of these reports.

Food and Drug Administration (FDA): In charge of food and drug products sold within the United States. Some agricultural product adverse event reports may also be accepted by the USDA.
