The three newest additions to the recalled dog and cat food list are Del Monte, Nestle Purina PetCare Company, and Hill's Pet Nutrition. All three companies issued voluntary recalls over the weekend.

The pet food recall now includes a variety of prescription dry cat food called Hill's Prescription Diet M/D Feline.

These products were contaminated with "Wheat Gluten-Containing Melamine," which is not approved for use in pet food. A state lab in New York accounced on March 23 that it had found aminopterin, an ingredient in rat poison, in the wheat gluten it tested in pet food.
