Polaris Recalls 930 Outlaws: 2007 Polaris Outlaw 4-wheeler Recalled

About 940 Polaris Outlaw 525 ATVs have been recalled by Polaris Industries due to a fire hazard caused by a loose fuel valve within the fuel tank.

So far, no injuries have been reported, but these ATV model '4-wheelers' have only been on the market since January of this year.

Each Polaris Outlaw 525 sells for about $7,300 at ATV shops throughout the Unites States.

Riders should cease use of the recalled Outlaw four-wheeler immediately and contact their local Polaris dealer for a FREE fuel tank replacement.

If you are a registered consumer you should receive a notice from Polaris about the recall on their Outlaw 525 model four wheelers.

For more information you can contact Polaris directly at 1-800-765-2747 during business hours or visit their website at www.polarisindustries.com.

Meerkat 50 Youth ATVs Deemed Deadly

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is warning consumers who own a Kazuma Meerkat 50 Youth All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) "four wheeler" that children are at risk of injury or death due to multiple safety defects with this product.

The Meerkat 50 does not have front brakes; has no parking brake; is missing a neutral indicator light; and can be started in gear.

These combine to make this ATV a potentially deadly off-road vehicle for anyone, let alone a child.

In unusually strong words from a CPSC press release: "
CPSC staff recommends that consumers stop using the product immediately because it is unsafe. The staff recommends that consumers demand a refund of the purchase price from the importer or dealer due to the defective condition of the ATV."

ATV Recall Bonanza - Recalled Honda 4-Wheelers

They just don't make 'em like they used to. This is the fourth ATV recall we have posted about this month, each from different manufacturers.

This time Honda has recalled about 24,000 of their TRX 400EX Four-Wheelers because of a transmission problem that could allow the rider to downshift from 1st gear into reverse without using the reverse lockout lever.

Although no injuries have been reported, all Honda Model '05 and '06 TRX400EX ATVs are to be returned to the place of purchase for service. Consumers are advised to stop riding these ATV Fourwheelers immediately.

For more information, call Honda at 866-784-1870 or visit the Honda Power Sports website at www.powersports.honda.com .

US Recall News will try to keep you updated on other Four Wheeler (ATV) Recalls in the future, but our advice is to buy a used one. The models from this past year just don't seem to be working out.
