Summary:
Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) is recalling certain model year 2013 Freightliner brand; Business Class M2, Cascadia, Coronado, 108SD, 114SD, and certain model year 2013 Western Star 4700 and 4900 trucks, equipped with model number 90262 and 90541 Hayes Lemmerz steel wheels. Due to an inadequate weld between the wheel disc and rim, the rim may partially separate from the disk and may affect vehicle handling. Or the rim may become fully separated from the disc.

Consequence:
Separation of the rim and tire from the vehicle can result in a loss of control and a vehicle crash.

Remedy:
DTNA will notify owners, and dealers will replace the wheels on affected vehicles, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin on, or before, February 7, 2013. Owners may contact DTNA at 1-800-547-0712 for more information.
