Chicago Firm Recalls Raw and Ready-To-Eat Sausage Products Due To Possible Adulteration

Chicago Boxed Beef Distributors Inc., a Shorewood, Ill., establishment is recalling approximately 3,200 pounds of raw and ready-to-eat sausage products that were not handled in a manner to prevent cross contamination between raw and ready-to-eat products. In addition, the product label used by the company was not approved by FSIS. The products are considered adulterated because the company could not document that it took the necessary steps to produce safe products and ensure that they were produced under sanitary conditions, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today.

The following product is subject to recall: [View Label] 3.6-pound boxes of “SAUSAGE LINKS & COOKED SAUSAGE PATTIES,” with each box containing 2 unlabeled packages.
Each box bears a label with establishment number “EST. 17126″ inside the USDA mark of inspection and can be identified by the item code “9004.” The establishment is recalling all the products listed above which are currently in commerce. The products subject to recall were sold to a distributor for door-to-door sale in Fla., Ill., Ky., S.C., and Texas.

American Regent, Inc. is recalling 5 lots of Vasopressin Injection, USP 20 units/mL (200 units/10mL), 10 mL Multiple Dose Vials; 11 lots of Vasopressin Injection, USP 20 units/mL, 1 mL Multiple Dose Vials; and 1 lot of Vasopressin Injection, USP 10 units/0.5 mL, 0.5 mL Multiple Dose Vials to the Retail/Hospital level.
American Regent, Inc.  has recalled these Vasopressin products because some vials may not maintain potency throughout their shelf-life.

Potential adverse events after administration of solutions that are below potency limits may include reduced effectiveness. American Regent, Inc. has received no reports of adverse events related to reduced effectiveness for Vasopressin Injection, USP of the lots being recalled during the time period January 1, 2009 to July 27, 2011.Vasopressin Injection, USP is indicated for prevention and treatment of postoperative abdominal distention, in abdominal roentgenography to dispel interfering gas shadows, and in diabetes insipidus.

Honda Recall – Accord (2005-2010) CR-V (2007-2010) and Element (2005-2008)

Honda has announced a recall that affects about 1,512,107 vehicles. This Honda recall includes Accord (years 2005-2010) CR-V (years 2007-2010) and Element (years 2005-2008) due to the transmission problems outlined below.

The outer race of the secondary shaft bearing could break in certain driving conditions, causing noise, the “check engine” light to turn on, and allow contact between the transmission idle gear and electronic sensor housing within the transmission. This situation could result in a short-circuit that causes the engine to stall in these recalled Hondas. Furthermore, broken pieces from these parts may get stuck in the parking pawl, causing the car to move after the gear is placed in the park position.
