Ohio Firm Recalls Various Marinated Beef Products Due to Misbranding and Undeclared Allergens

Malcolm Meats, of Northwood, OH has recalled about 4,530 pounds of marinated beef products because of misbranding and undeclared allergens. The products contain known allergens, wheat and soy, which are not declared on the label, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today.

FDA Warns Healthcare Workers About Transvaginal Surgical Mesh

Ducati North America is recalling about 964 year 2011 Diavel motorcycles made between September 23, 2010 and May 12, 2010 because the brass inserts installed in the chain guard may deform over time. This could result in a loosening of the license plate holder retaining screws on the rear swing arm, which could interfere with the bike’s rear wheel rotation, thus increasing the risk of a crash.

Tri City Cheese and Meats, Inc., a Kawkawlin, MI has recalled about 87 pounds of Teriyaki Flavor kippered turkey and beef products because they contain wheat and soy, which are not noted on the label. Wheat and soy are both known allergens.

The products subject to recall include: [View Labels] 5-oz. and 1 lb. packages of “Troll Smokehouse, Kippered Turkey, Teriyaki Flavor” 5-oz. and 1 lb. packages of “Troll Smokehouse, Kippered Beef, Teriyaki Flavor”
Individual packages bear “EST. 32015″ or “P-32015″ inside the USDA mark of inspection. The products were produced between Jan. 1, 2011 and April 26, 2011. The product package code also includes a “sell by date” of May 21, 2011 through Sept. 9, 2011 for the Kippered Turkey, and a “sell by date” of July 9, 2011 through Sept. 2, 2011 for the Kippered Beef. The products were distributed to retail establishments in Michigan.

South Carolina Firm Recalls Ham Products for Possible Listeria Contamination

McNeil Consumer Healthcare, Division of McNEIL-PPC, Inc., is recalling at the retail level one product lot (60,912 bottles) of TYLENOL®, Extra Strength Caplets, 225 count bottles, distributed in the U.S. The recalled product was manufactured in February, 2009. McNeil is taking this action following a small number of odor reports, including musty, moldy odor. The uncharacteristic musty, moldy odor has been linked to the presence of trace amounts of a chemical known as 2,4,6-tribromoanisole (TBA).
