Simply Asia Foods Recalls Three Flavors of Thai Kitchen Rice Noodle Carts and One Flavor of Simply Asia Noodle Bowl Due to Undeclared Milk Ingredient

 Simply Asia Foods, LLC recalls Thai Kitchen® Noodle Carts (Sweet Citrus Ginger, Thai Peanut, and Spicy Thai Basil) and Simply Asia® Noodle Bowl (Roasted Peanut) due to an undeclared milk ingredient.

The recalled Thai Kitchen Noodle Carts were distributed to retail stores nationally beginning October 1, 2009. Sweet Citrus Ginger and Spicy Thai Basil Noodle Carts are packaged in 9.70 OZ single serve bowls and Thai Peanut Noodle Cart is a 9.77 OZ single serve bowl. The Thai Peanut Noodle Cart is also packaged into a four pack including 2 Pad Thai Noodle Carts and 2 Thai Peanut Noodle Carts. Also note that Pad Thai Noodle Carts are not affected by this recall.

The recalled Simply Asia Noodle Bowl – Roasted Peanut was distributed to retail stores nationally beginning September 23, 2010. The Roasted Peanut Noodle Bowl is packaged in an 8.5 OZ single serve bowl.

The recall was prompted after the discovery of an ingredient being used containing low levels of sodium caseinate (a milk derivative) in coconut powder. The ingredient statements on the packages do not list milk as an ingredient.

All retail outlets that sell these Thai Kitchen® and Simply Asia® products are being notified to remove the affected product (UPC Codes: 37628-01024, 37628-01027, 37628-01023, 37628-01038, and 54285-00087) from their shelves immediately. Consumers do not need to return the product to the store where it was purchased. If you have an allergy to milk, do not consume the product. Consumers may contact Simply Asia Foods Consumer Affairs team at 1-800-967-8424, weekdays from 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM, or weekends from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM (Eastern Time), for a replacement or full refund, as well as instructions on what to do with the product.
