Photon Climbing Carabiners and Quickdraws Recalled: Fall Risk
May 7, 2011
About 15,500 Photon carabiners are being recalled by CAMP USA Inc., of Broomfield, CO because the carabiner gate may open under heavy loads. So far no injuries have been reported.
The recalled Photon model carabiners are used by climbers as connectors and are sold individually or as part of the Photon Express and Mach Express quickdraw used as extenders to anchor a climber. These rock climbing products were sold in several colors (see pictures below) nationwide at outdoor and climbing stores between February 2011 and March 2011 for between $8 and $12.
If you have one or more of these recalled Photon carabiners you are advised to stop using it and contact the company during standard business hours MST at (877) 421-2267 for a full refund.

In this day and age of cheap imports how corporations get away with selling this crap i don’t know.
Or was it made in the country of origin?
If so where?
How can these Companies sell items as this so simple and yet not properly made and tested?
