Setton International Foods, Inc. is voluntarily recalling limited quantities of its Fairway brand Energy Mix and its Setton Farms brand Total Energy Mix sold to select stores in NY and NJ because they may contain peanuts and chocolate flavored chips (Sugar, Partially Hydrogenated Palm Kernel Oil, Cocoa, Cocoa Processed with Alkali, Sorbitan Monosterate (An Emulsifier), Salt, Soy Lecithin (An Emulsifier), Vanillin (An Artificial Flavor)) not listed on the label.
United Pet Group Expands Recall of Nutritional Supplements For Dogs

United Pet Group, Cincinnati, Ohio is voluntarily expanding its recent recall of its Pro-Pet Adult Daily Vitamin Supplement tablets for Dogs to include additional pet nutritional supplement products for dogs and cats due to possible Salmonella contamination. The list of recalled products is provided below. The Food and Drug Administration is aware of this recall.

Tri-Union Seafoods Recalls Limited 12-Ounce Solid White Tuna in Water

Tri-Union Seafoods LLC is issuing a precautionary, voluntary recall of a limited amount of Chicken of the Sea brand 12-ounce solid white tuna in water.
Due to a production error, the product does not meet the company’s standards for seal tightness, and the company is conducting the precautionary, voluntary recall out of an abundance of caution to ensure public health, said Shue Wing Chan, president, Tri-Union Seafoods.

(1.13 kg., 40 oz.) produced on 6/10/10, because it may be contaminated with Salmonella. People handling raw pet food can become infected with Salmonella, especially if they have not thoroughly washed their hands after having contact with the raw pet food or any surfaces exposed to the product.

Azteca Linda Corp. of Brooklyn, NY, is recalling QUESO FRESCO (FRESH WHITE CHEESE) and QUESO HEBRA (FRESH WHITE STRING CHEESE) with an expiration date of July 7, 2010 because they have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
