Where and how do I get a replacement on my playset. I have the Dakota Playset Model 1-AP046? I have checked the playset that I have and find that on various parts it’s weakened but I haven’t allowed anyone to put any weight on these particular areas. Please let me know how to get this replacement. Thank you for your time and notification of this problem.

I have Durango playset. This is the website I was sent for recall but do not see any area to apply. I was only aware of one recall and now find there are two.weak monkey bars and detching I would appreciat the web site to get this problem resolved.

I also have the Dakota Mdl. #1-AP046. Upon reading the recall notice and inspecting the swing I found that the cross beams are lierally rotting from the inside. Enclosed in a vinyl cover has allowed moisture to be trapped causing the beam to remain wet and to rot prematurely. The cross beams are currently bent down in what I would call a swag in the middle. The overall problem is not one of hardware but one of poor design by covering the wood in vinyl, trapping water, causing them to rot over a short period of time. This rotting will also eventually cause the four main support post of the tree house to rot and again cause a future safety hazard. This total design needs to be reevaluated and if need be, a total recall of the whole swingset should be concidered with a new replacement or refund of money spent.

I’m very frustrated with the recall process. I only found out about this recall because our swings fell out of the rotting monkey bar beam, so I looked up recalls. Only to find out, there was a recall on our specific set before we even purchased it. We noticed problems, but my husband just tried to fix them on his own. Children could be seriously injured, and stores like Wal-Mart are still selling them after the recall.

I recieved the recall parts to repair my broken swingset (yes it did break) but the parts included do not go together and I am not getting much help from the company. I am going to call a supervisor tomorrow and see if I can get a better answer.

We purchased a durango 1-AP016 3 years ago.
I noticed the ladder to the monkey bars was
bending at the top. Thru close inspection
I found that one side of the rails at the top
was hollowed out and was full of ants.
Was this set recalled? And is there a fix you can provide.

I filled out my information for the recall months ago and still have not recieved my new parts. My children cannot use the swing set, at this point it is just taking up space in our yard. How do I find out where my parts are?

  9. Angie on July 27th, 2010 8:25 pm

Well, looks like we will be taking this thing down and trashing it!

I did not know about the recall and my daughter fell off our Bellevue model when the rung rotted out..I am trying to replace the part with no response for the company. Did they go out of business? Additionally the cross brace is craking.

We bought the Durango for our grandchildren. While they were swinging (all are 5 and younger), I noticed the support beam holding the monkey bars and swings was sagging badly. Also the rungs of the ladder have rotted and fallen off. Any information to get replacement parts would be appreciated. I’ve sent an email to Adventure playsets.
