Herring Produce, Lake Park, Georgia is voluntarily recalling production lot number 0801206 of whole Anaheim Peppers out of an abundance of precaution because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. No illnesses have been reported in connection with the Herring Produce Anaheim Pepper products and the company is working with FDA to inform all retail consumers of this recall. FDA is not linking this isolated positive sample to any current or ongoing Salmonella outbreaks.
Country Creations Recalls Frosting Packets: Salmonella Risk

Country Creations is recalling packets of frosting because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.

Gourmet Hot Cocoa Mix pouches marked with lot# 101.08.15 and lot# 311.08.45 because they contain nonfat dried milk manufactured by the Plainview Milk Products Association (“Plainview”) of Plainview, MN. The “Plainview” nonfat dried milk has been subject to an FDA recall due to potential Salmonella contamination. There have been no reports of illness related to the recall. The Gourmet Hot Cocoa Mix pouches were shipped in cartons marked with lot # 041008 and lot # 110608, respectively.
