What about those that had the updated 08/09 steering linkage kits installed on 03-07 Rams?
We need to know the affected part numbers, not just the trucks. This can be deadly.
I beleive releasing all of the a affected linkage kit part #’s would help alot. Some owners have already purchased the kit on ther own. Lives are at stake!
YES, We need to know because alot of trucks out there have been updated to this new 08-up style steering linkage. because you cant get steering linkage parts anymore from mopar. all supercedes to this 08-09 kit. would this be under the recall and what is the customer suspose to do with these updated recalled parts on there older 03-07 trucks. so far i cant get any info from mopar.
I own a 2009 Ram 3500 dually, never off roaded, no accidents, and at 29,000 miles the left tie rod just failed, causing complete loss of steering. Chrysler tells me my truck was inspected prior to sale to ensure the steering linkage was ok due to the recall. No explanation from Chrysler as to why I experienced steering failure.
I made a purchase in the later part of 2009, I brought my truck to the dealer. All thet did was look at it. That’s it! Is there something you can tell me, no one said anything. It took 5 minutes? Before I bought the truck, I checked the ID# on the internet before I bought it, and it said just what it says above. That my ID# was never checked. What are they looking for, can you tell me??? Thanks
