Just today, I purchased a container of Edy's "fudge tracks" ice cream. From the name, I had no idea it had tiny pieces of peanut butter cups in the ice cream. Edy's is NOT on the list of recalled products. Still, after having serving the ice cream for supper I heard on a 10:00PM CBS news break from my local TV station that, "Salmonella recall expanded to ice cream products - MORE AT 11! So, I spent the last 60 minutes or so researching on-line. Edy's Customer Service line has been 'busy' for the last hour. So, now I worry. I am an avid label reader. But, I grabbed the ice cream just before I headed for the checkout. Who Knew? Peanut butter in a fudge ripple type ice cream. Money for corporations means more that people's lives. It is a sad state of affairs. Criminal Charges should definitely be filed. And the charges should be manslaughter if PCA knew about the faulty peanut butter.
