Reference Hummer H2 wiper recall: recently my wipers stopped working and the washer pump stayed on continually until the washer motor overheated and started a fire under the hood. I blame this on a faulty wiper module.

I have a 2005 Hummer H2 and the rear wiper came on by itself and started pumping all the fluid out, then my front wiper stopped working or spraying. Whats going on.

have the same problem with my front wipers and the winshield wiper fluid pump had did the same thing. stayed on until it exhausted all of the fluid. the pump apparantly burned out. don’t know what i can do to get this replaced for free. the wiper motor had already been taken care of by hummer for free.

Yesterday my front & back windshield wipers & washer pump came on while I was driving down a busy road and nearly caused an accident. I saw the recall on it contacted the hummer dealership they said the recall was only for 03 & since mine was a 04 they cant do anything, They wanted me to take it to them and pay for a diagnostic & then they would give me a quote on how much to fix it. Last Hummer I will ever buy since they don’t want to stand behind there defective products!

I have a 2003 Hummer H2 that had this problem in 2005. GM replaced the unit under warranty before the recall was issued. Now, it is doing it again. GM says they will not fix it because it is out of warranty and my VIN was not on the recall list issued by the NHTSA. GM does not do voluntary recalls (like most companies do). I recommend that all of you file a complaint with the NHTSA so they will force GM to correct this problem. I also recommend that you get ahold of your State Attorney General and file a class action lawsuit against GM. They take our tax dollars because they don’t know how to run an efficient business, yet they won’t stand behind their products when they know they have a common problem.

HAD THE SAME PROBLEM ON 8 FEB 10. WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR WENT CRAZY COULD NOT TURN-OFF MY WIPERS. FINALLY 2 MINUTES LATER WIPERS SHUT- OFF. THE NEXT DAY I TRIED TO START MY VEHICLE AND THE BATTERY WAS COMPLETELY DEAD. THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MODULE HAD BEEN DAMAGED CAUSING MY BATTERY TO BE DRAINED WHILE SHUT OFF. MY LOCAL DEALER STATED GM WOULD NOT COVER THE REPAIR BECAUSE THE RECALL ONLY COVERS 03′S NOT 04′S. HOWEVER, THE RECALL DOES STATE H2′S MANUFACTORED IN O3 (MY) MY VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTORED IN DEC 03. I WOULD ADVISE EVERYONE HAVING THIS PROBLEM OR NOT BECAUSE SOONER OR LATER YOU WILL, TO CONTACT THE NHTSA IMMEDIATELY AND FILE A COMPLAINT (THE MORE PEOPLE VOICE THEIR OPINION THE BETTER OUR CHANCES OF TURNING THIS THING AROUND IN OUR FAVOR………..LET’S DO IT PEOPLE, LET’S WIN ONE FOR THE LITTLE GUY) AT(888) 327-4236. PEOPLE THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH OUR VEHICLES THAT’S NOT GOING AWAY. EVEN AFTER A REPAIR IS DONE IT CAN REOCCUR COSTING US THOUSAND AND THOUSAND OF DOLLARS. THIS COST SHOULD BE PICKED-UP BY GM NOT US (THE CONSUMER).

Same……..I got no help..from Hummer……Yea they will replace the cover…How good is to replace the cover on a wipper motor that allready went bad……Sure thay will replace the cover…..( Thats the recall..cover only)….The cover caused the motor to go bad,,,,,They need to pick the bill for the whole thing….That’s BS….
Now they want $600.00. to get it back to work……Na!…Not Fair…..I’m defenetly filling a complaint…….
