Pet Food Manufacturer Ordered to Obtain Emergency Permit
April 25, 2008
The US Food and Drug Administration has ordered Evanger’s Dog & Cat Food CO., Inc., of Wheeling, IL to obtain an emergency permit before allowing their products to move into interstate commerce.
In a recent plant inspection, the FDA found several major problems that could result in under-processed pet food, which could result in food going to market with botulism and other bacteria.
It is good to hear that the FDA is still taking pet food safety seriously after last year’s major pet food recalls.
