Oscillating Ceramic Heaters Recalled for Fire Danger

December 9, 2007

It’s that time of year again. People are bundling up inside and turning on the space heaters, which usually brings on a rash of heater-related fires and the recall of a few dozen space heater brands.

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission and Collins International Co. have recalled oscillating ceramic heaters (pictured below) sold at Menards retail stores due to a fire hazard caused by overheating.

About 20,000 units are being recalled. Please look out for 1500 watt oscillating ceramic heaters model EB38005. The heater has a white plastic housing with the name “Heat-Wave” in black on its top. A label on the bottom of the product contains the model and the control number “ETL 3090262.”
