Everyone say buy American but would you spend $10.00 dollars on an item made in America that you could get made in China for $5.00. No I don't may people would we need to look in the mirror and realize that we do it everyday. We are a society of lazy welfare driven people that would do anything to save a buck. We worry so much about lead poison in our kids toys but, have no problem shoving unhealthy and fating fast food down there throats. Live well, long and do what ever the hell you want in life.

I dont think we should buy anymore toys from china because all it does is risks how childrens life and health.
If we do buy anything from china I feel everything should be checked thoroughly before bringing it to the united states.

why are people still aloud to donate recalled items. In used stores some don't know what's being recalled. I think people shouldn't be able to donate items either.

I tried to purchase a Simpson's Dr. Hibbert Island toy from The Dollar general. I was not buying it for a child but as a gift for an adult. It came up as a recalled toy and it could not be sold. When I looked on Ebay I found some being sold. Can recalled toys still be sold on Ebay or at resale stores? I do volunteer work to raise money and we get a lot of toy donations to sell to raise money. Do I need to familiarize myself with all the recalled toys and not sell them? I purchase toys for my grandchildren also. Can we send these items back to the companies that produced them if they are recalled and have them replaced or get a refund?

I think all these recalls are a big hoax. Somehting isn't sitting right about all these recalls all of the sudden in 2008 by the "newly" formed CPSC. Now, they have passed a law requiring ALL businesses to have independent lead testing done, which in turn, is putting millions of small US businesses, out of business. Smells fishy to me.

I am originally from cuba ,a communist country .And YES!!! COMMUNIST CHINA DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR OWN CHILDREN, MUCH LESS YOURS OR MINE! THEY ARE ANIMALS!! Hear me out, COMUNISTS DO NOT VALUE HUMAN LIFE. It is not terrorism, it's that they do not have moral standars. It bothers me that we are loading the pockets of the chinese government when they should not be trusted . Not only we are making our children half crazy and in some cases totally disfunctional with their staff ,but I gurantee you that china will buy nuclear weapons with that money and point them at our butt ,our total broke butt. Broke because the jobs in america are being outsourced, or worked by H1B visa worker who are not loyal to the american company but to their respective company at home. I fell in love with this country when I was a kid ,but the lack of patriotism caused by greed is really dissappointing.
An important point I want to make. It has been poit out already that american companies want to make a bigget profit and that is why all this is happening try. It is very true that union workers are expensive for them .Let's be honest ,lots of benefits ,expensive health insurance, and it can be burdensome with all due respect to those workers who are really not making a fortune anyway ,but well thhat is what the companies complain about. I wonder why don't the american companies try to make a compromise with the workers before htey dec ide and take the jobs away like that. what is that all about. I beleive that a union worker would be willingg to make a sacrifice and give up something if hee know he is going to be unemployed.
And if that is too naive ,why don't theyy outsource those companies to us neighbouring poor countries that have proven to be loyal. I would prefer ot hear that they otsourced a toy factory to mexico. Maybe they can employ the very same people who are trying to cross the border .That will keep them in their country and help lowering the illegal inmigration rate. Besides that could employ american truckers too. why give all that money to evil china.? they cheat!, the chinese are cheaters and not to be trusted .Whenever get together with the russians I just want to crush all that says 'made in china'. Walmart in putting us in danger in many ways, long term danger. I will not buy anything else made in china period. One dollar less that they get, one less child they poison, one communist dicatarorship that should not be getting that powerful.

OK, this is certainly NOT the first time, not even close! I DO fully believe as now a grandmother of seven that our children and grandchildren and past, present and future off spring have been or will be affected by these poisonous not only toys, food, pet foods, bath goods as in shampoos, and so on, then you have EVERYTHING else ever made in China, India, Japan, Taiwan, Indonesia, you name it! The greed and corporate AMERICA???? have long cared ONLY about their bottom lines....profits!!!! For how long now have we al been poisoned? By how many products and foods and so on and so on and so on.....How many years? How many children people and pets have been affected? For sooooo long, the media, the government entities could care less! It's ALWAYS been about money and always will be! No honesty here, not for a VERY long time! No wonder we have so many with sooo many problems, autism, add and adhd? Serious brain function problems and GOD ONLY KNOWS what else?? Believe me, we've BEEN poisoned for a long time! FDA? Please! Better start growing our own and MAKING our own! We have GOT to start doing instead of just saying, like NOT buying if it says "Made in China" or Made in India! Or where else??

we can't put all the blame on china for all these recall. American business industry is profit greedy. This is the results of using outside resources to save a few big bucks. This is the result of trying to avoid rules and regulation, paying high taxes and income wages. Maybe this will start American business to think about making merchandises at home instead of looking for outside sources. It would be nice to purchase a product and read the small print saying MADE IN USA. maybe this would keep our children safe from harm.

That's what this country gets for it's greedy capitalism as big business sources out jobs to foreign countries just to make a buck. It's sickening and our children are paying for it...so are we as families. Keep industry here in our country so it can be more closely monitored and regulated...it'll also help to eradicate the nation's growing unemployment problems.

Does anyone know anything about a product called "Balls in a Bowl? These were meade in China but they have a distinctive "stinky" odor when you open the package. We are trying to find out if they have been on the recal list as our ministry received several skids of these which were doanted for distribution.

one more post! If you shop on ebay or any of those other auctioning sites, they do sell recalled items. They are not monitered. I wrote to them and there is a section to go to so they say, but no one knows about it to find out if their item of purchase is being recalled. Items made in the early 1900's thru now are being sold. Definitely many things have lead in them from back in the day. So spread the word. We can help save our children and others by making websites like ebay/amazon etc... enforce not selling items that have been recalled and if they are selling antiques, place a disclosure on them so children dont play with them. Some people buy antiques out of stupidity for their kids and dont think that there may be harmful chemicals on them. Send an e mail out to all your friends. The word will get out! I love ebay and amazon but i am very careful about what i buy on there. You all do the same, be safe and keep on the crusade for healthier toys.

To stop shopping at wal mart is not the answer.... Merely not allowing the products to come thru to the us is the answer. Dont meet our standards, dont meet our children. And yes, play ball outside with your children, just make sure that ball, backyard toys have not been made in china, or have been recalled.....

I think that there are some comments about everything being expensive in america to manufacture??? Well, I am an American and most of us are greedy! We try to get the CHEAPEST way out for any item we buy. Well, i know people directly from china.. These POOR people work very hard and still live in poverty. Who are we helping? Bring the manufacturing back to the us. US standards, employ the us workers or better yet, all of these immigrants we supposedly have, give them a place to stay and work! And use lead free products. As a middle class citizen, i have to say i am guilty of overbuying for my child. I have stopped buying thomas toys, and other CHARACTER items as it seems they are contaminated the most. Plus I save money and my childs sanity by not overbuying. But, i would much rather pay $30 for a train than $12-20 as long as i knew it was made without lead/harmful to my child and not done in slave conditions. There is not much made here anymore and we are almost forced to support the chinese slave labor habits. You think we should all be writing to congress? Why so much autisim, ADD, etc...? Think about it.
